Vision and Philosophy
About us
We've been working with and supporting many SME businesses over the past 7 years.
Firstly starting off in Durban back in '99 and then later established in Johannesburg. We plan to expand our client base into various different industries that could use our Information Technology solutions to help them improve their business.
Where do we wish to be?
The leading IT Company that serves all Small to Medium Enterprises' (SME) information technology needs particularly in the Johannesburg North. The company is based on a unique business model which incorporates personal growth and spiritual values into the core essence of the model. Technical capability or any skill for that matter, is determined by the individual's love for what s/he is doing. The organisation is run by well defined systems and processes, with competent people running the systems and processes. We aim to grow into a mature organisation that other companies admire and are inspired by. The company realises that continuous growth and change are part of the natural process and therefore remains open to this change and moves with it.
The place in which we work is an important part of our lives; the vision of UPIT is that you can fulfil both your personal and professional goals here. We acknowledge that an individual's work and family life are interconnected and all events can be used as your vehicle for growth.
Working at UPIT is not a job, we are not looking for people who are merely looking for a job, it is more than that, it is an attempt to bring life and your expression into the workplace. A willingness to grow is the biggest pre-requisite.
Values which we stand for
The Principal of Fair Exchange:
Providing a high quality service for the equivalent amount of money in exchange. Fair Exchange applies equally to employees as it does to customers – employees are remunerated based on performance.Honesty:
We do what we feel is in the best interests of the customer. In this day and age is it important to remember to keep a high ethical standard, this is something that may differentiate us in the market.Self Actualisation:
Employees are encouraged to follow what they are passionate about and the company will allow for and facilitate growth in the direction of each individual’s actualisation. The idea is along the lines of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs – we develop from basic survival needs towards fulfilment.Balance:
The Company believes that your lifestyle should be balanced between work and family. This means that employees will generally work 8 - 9 hour days (40 hour week), anything more is discouraged as you operate more efficiently and effectively when well rested. If need be employees will be expected to work additional hours if a deadline is to be met, this will be more an exception than a rule.
Payment is due when service is rendered.
Profits are a by-product of loving services rendered.
